Modern diet cannot be imagined without Sugar. Sugar the chemically processed ingredient of diet is the greatest threat to human health. People become addicted to it after regular consumption.
Why Do We Seek Sugar Alternate?
Sugar, the worst ingredient of our diet; is a sweet poison which ruins health gradually. It causes Albumin and Lipoprotein function less effectively. Resultantly these blood-proteins which are responsible for fat and cholesterol reduction do not work efficiently. It leads to adverse health effects including through weight-gain and diabetes.
Reason of Adverse Health Effects - Actually during production granular Sugar has to go through chemical process. Chemical used in process effects human health adversely. Such as : -

*Lead to Ovarian Cancer
*Causes premature ageing
*Lead to weight-gain and diabetes
Stevia - The Natural Sweetener : -
Stevia Rebaudiana, the green wonder herb, is called the natural sweetener. It does not have calories, carbs and carbohydrate. But is more sweeter than sugar due to presence of steviosides, Rebaudiosides and Dulcosides which are intensely sweet glycosides.
Artificial Sweeteners And Adverse Effects: -
Artificial Sweeteners are chemical compounds that replace the sweetness of sugar. Misfortunately artificial sweeteners have several side effects. It increases appetite that result in blood sugar.
Generally "Aspartame" and "Splenda" are used as alternate of sugar around the globe. But "Aspartame" has experienced side-effects like brain tumors and irritating behaviour. "Splenda" may enlarge both liver and kidneys. Researches have also found that it can cause skin rashes, diarrhea, headache and stomachache etc.
Of course Stevia is the best alternative of sugar because of following reasons: -
(1.) A healthy sugar alternative - Stevia is 150-300 times sweeter than sugar due to presence of "Steviosides". Its leaves contain protein, fibers, carbohydrates, irons, phosphorus, calcium, Vitamin A, and C which are vital constituents for good health.
(2.)Natural non-caloric sweetener - It is a non-carbohydrate glycoside compound. Hence it lacks properties of sucrose. As it is non-caloric so it helps to lose weight. But sugar is sucrose which contains a lot of calories.
(3.)Release of Insulin - People suffering from Diabetes are prohibited to eat sugar. But Stevia stimulates the release of Insulin which plays significant role to normalize the response to glucose, especially in type-2 diabetes.
(4.) Suppression of cravings - As sugar promotes cravings which lead to negative side-effects like headaches, dizziness, rashes etc. On the other hand Stevia is known to suppress cravings, so it does not have such negative side-effects reported.
(5.)Controlling Diabetes - Stevia play vital role to stabilize blood sugar and to increase resistance. It promotes insulin production and helps to regulate diabetes. But sugar decreases insulin sensitivity and increases sugar level.
(6.)Prevention of cavities and tooth decay - Due to antibacterial properties Stevia helps in the prevention of cavities and tooth decay. It also suppresses the growth of plague. But Sugar promotes cavities, tooth decay and plaque.
